Information We Collect

When you contact us

• Name, phone number, email address and service address
• Details of the cleaning or other services you ask about
• Messages you send us

When you use the app

• Your account: name, email address, phone number, preferred language and your password (stored only in scrambled form, never readable by us).
• Properties (hosts): address and map location, photos of the property, access instructions and door codes, notes for cleaners, checklists and the links to your booking calendars.
• Cleanings: scheduled times, check-in and check-out times, photos taken during the cleaning, task answers, notes, reported issues, supplies used, star ratings and reviews.
• Location (cleaners): your phone's location at the moment you tap check in or check out, to confirm you're at the property. We don't track your location at any other time.
• Billing (hosts): prices, weekly bills and payment history. Card and bank details are entered with our payment provider; we never see or store full card or account numbers.
• Pay (cleaners): hourly rate, timesheets, payouts and reimbursements, and your reliability and performance record. Bank details and identity checks for direct deposit are handled by our payment provider.
• Your device: sign-in sessions (including IP address and browser type), notification settings, and, if you turn them on, a code that lets us send push notifications to your phone or browser. To work without signal, the app keeps a temporary copy of a cleaning on the cleaner's phone until it syncs.

How We Use Your Information

• Schedule, offer and coordinate cleanings
• Give cleaners what they need on site (checklists, instructions, access details)
• Send hosts a report with photos after each cleaning
• Bill hosts, pay cleaners and keep business records
• Send emails, push notifications and texts about your cleanings, bills and pay
• Translate checklists and notes for cleaners who use the app in Spanish
• Respond to questions and provide support
• Keep the app secure and working

Who Can See What in the App

• Hosts see their own properties, cleanings, reports and bills.
• Cleaners see a property only while they have an upcoming or running cleaning there. Door codes are shown only once the cleaner has checked in for that cleaning.
• Dust Detectives staff see what they need to run the service.

Service Providers We Use

We use outside companies only to run our service. They may handle your information only on our behalf:

• Hosting and database: a cloud server in the United States that runs the app and stores its data
• File storage: cloud storage for photos
• Email delivery: sends our emails
• Payments: processes host payments by card or bank and cleaner direct deposits; hosts may also pay through a payment app of their choice
• Maps: shows maps when a property's location is set
• Automatic translation: receives checklist and note text (not names or contact details) to translate it into Spanish
• Push notifications: your phone's or browser's own notification service delivers our notifications
• Backups: encrypted cloud storage keeps backup copies so data can be restored after a failure

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• Provide requested services
• Work with the service providers listed above
• Comply with applicable laws or legal requirements
• Protect our rights or the safety of others

SMS and Mobile Information

If you opt in to receive SMS messages from Dust Detectives, we may send you customer-care messages related to service inquiries, scheduling, appointment coordination, service updates, and follow-up communications.

Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes.

We may share information with service providers only when necessary to operate our communications and provide requested services.

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. For assistance, reply HELP or contact us using the information below.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and help our website and app work and improve. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but some parts of the app may not work without them.

How Long We Keep It

• Photos taken during a cleaning are deleted 90 days after the cleaning. Download the report as a PDF if you need them longer.
• Property photos and checklist example photos stay until they're removed.
• Cleaning records, bills, payments and pay records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
• Backup copies are replaced on a rolling basis.

Your Choices

• Turn emails and push notifications on or off in Settings → Notifications, or from the link at the bottom of any email. Sign-in emails can't be turned off.
• Choose English or Spanish in Settings → Language.
• Location is used only when you tap check in or check out; you can deny your phone's location permission and still check in.
• Contact us to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse, including encrypted connections and access limited by role.

Children

Our services are not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
