Accounts

• App accounts are created by invitation from Dust Detectives.
• Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• We may pause or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk.

For Hosts

Booking cleanings

• Cleanings are scheduled by Dust Detectives. A cleaning you request in the app is confirmed once we approve it.
• If you link a booking calendar, cleanings are added, moved and cancelled automatically when guest bookings change. Keep your calendar up to date.
• Give us accurate access instructions and codes, and tell us about anything a cleaner needs to know to work safely.

Cancelling

• You can cancel a cleaning, or withdraw a request, in the app at no charge up to 24 hours before the cleaning starts.
• Cancelling less than 24 hours before the cleaning starts costs a $30 cancellation fee, added to your bill.
• This fee applies only to cleanings scheduled by hand. Cleanings created from a linked Airbnb or other short-term rental calendar are never charged a cancellation fee, including when a guest cancels their booking.

Prices and billing

• Each property has its own price per cleaning, for a standard and a deep cleaning, shown in the app. A price change applies to cleanings from the date of the change.
• Supplies used, emergency purchases a cleaner makes for your property (plus an errand fee) and other agreed extras are added to your bill.
• Bills run weekly, Monday to Sunday, and are due the following Monday.
• You can pay by card or bank account through our payment provider, or with the other payment methods shown in the app. Automatic weekly payment is optional and can be turned off at any time.
• Questions about a charge? Contact us before paying and we'll review it.

Reports and photos

After each cleaning you receive a report with photos in the app. Cleaning photos are deleted 90 days after the cleaning; download the report as a PDF if you need them longer.

For Cleaners

Cleaners work with Dust Detectives as independent contractors. Your contractor agreement, if you have one, comes first where it differs from these terms.

• Offers: open cleanings are offered in the app, and the first offered cleaner to accept gets it. Your reliability grade decides how soon offers reach you.
• Check-in and check-out: check in and out in the app at the property. Your location is recorded at those two moments.
• Cancelling: cancelling more than 48 hours before a cleaning is free but counts toward your reliability grade. Inside 48 hours it's a late cancellation: one per 90 days has no fee; after that, a $25 fee is deducted from your pay unless we excuse it.
• No-shows: not checking in within 1 hour of your start time, or cancelling after it, is a no-show, with a $50 fee deducted from your pay unless we excuse it.
• The current window and fees are always shown in the app before you cancel, and we may change them with notice in the app.
• Pay: paid weekly at your hourly rate for approved time. Direct deposit carries our payment provider's payout fee (currently 0.25% + 25¢ per payout), deducted from that payout. Approved emergency purchases with a receipt photo are paid back.
• Access codes and property details are confidential. Don't share them or use them outside a cleaning.

Using the App

• Use the app only for Dust Detectives work. Don't try to reach other people's data or disrupt the service.
• Photos, notes and reports you add may be shown to the host, the cleaner and Dust Detectives for that property.
• We work to keep the app running, but it may sometimes be unavailable or slow. Work done without signal is saved on your phone and syncs when you're back online.

SMS Messaging Program

By opting in to receive SMS messages from Dust Detectives, you agree to receive customer-care text messages regarding matters such as:

• Service inquiries
• Scheduling and appointment coordination
• Service updates
• Follow-up communications
• Customer support

Message frequency varies depending on your interaction with Dust Detectives. Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Opting Out

You may stop receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. After opting out, you may receive a confirmation message indicating that you have been unsubscribed.

Mobile information and SMS consent will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes.

SMS delivery is subject to your wireless carrier's network availability and is not guaranteed. Dust Detectives and participating carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Your use of our services is subject to our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a cleaning is limited to the amount paid for that cleaning, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Tell us about any problem with a cleaning within 48 hours so we can look into it.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
